Bring your printmaking enthusiasm for an afternoon of studying the Folly Cove Designers in Savin Hill. This unique educational experience includes a lecture by special guest expert, writer and curator Elena Sarni, who will present and display original works by the Folly Cove Designers and speak about the history and contributions of these predominantly female printmakers and artisans. Susana McDonnell and Mindy Schumacher will lead instruction to design, carve and print your own linocut inspired by the work and style of the Folly Cove Designers, while utilizing Virginia Lee Burton's pedagogical framework created for her own students. In this intermediate course you will create your own small edition of prints on paper and the block that you create will be yours to bring home and keep printing! All materials as well as beverages and light snacks will be provided. Exact address will be emailed upon registration.
